Hi guys

My hatchling rack is heated by one specific type of brand/size/wattage heatmat and the last week ive been working out when i need to upgrade the rub sizes that the mats arent going to really be that effective with regards to covering surface area.
If i was to to replace all my heatmat for strips im looking at in excess of £100 and theres nothing wrong with any of the mats they are a few barely a month or so old.
To be honest right now id rather spend the money on bigger vivs for my yearlings than replacing mats unessacerily. the mats from the rack could then be used in the upgraded vivs.
So i have a few questions was hoping i might get some answers too

1)is there anything to suggest cables are any less efficient or appropiate for racks or is it personal preference ?

2)i was looking at the zoomed cables and it says that the first 6.5 feet of all their cables is cold lead does anyone know if this is true for ALL heat cables if so ill have to factor that in when working out the length i need?

3) wheres the best place to buy from and are there any brands that are better to use than others ?

Thanks in advance

Paul
