Most of mine are taken out and fed in rubs only the shy feeders eat in their vivs or rubs i used to buy into the whole feeding in their vivs/rubs makes them agressive belief but now i just think its nonsense my shy feeders are just as happy to be handled as my snakes that are fed out of their vivs and show no hints of agression so now i just think its personal preference i supervise my shy feeders though to ensure no substrates ingested ive tried putting the feed on plates or paper towels etc but they just drag em off elsewhere lol
I feed in the viv, just because i find it easer. both the boys are kept on cage carpet so no risk of them ingesting substrate, i also feed using tongs so they dont associate my hand with food. its down to personal perferance and the snakes personality whether you feed in or out of the viv
I hand feed all of mine in a tub. That way when I get nabbed they can't drag me into the viv. I don't like using tongs due to the force of the strikes of my big boys.I prefer to have a wee tug of war over the mouse even if they always win.
It is a good time for a general check over and photo session. I have had issues before where the mouse/rat got covered in chips. Snake saliva is pretty sticky stuff. My Carpet Python did not like it one little bit with me trying to scrape the beech chips off with a piece of dowel.
It all comes down to personal preferences and knowing the nature of your individual snakes.

I feed mine in RUBS, mainly just cos i always have and the whole worried about some substrate thing but i think if you feed on a piece of card or similar its not really a problem so its just personal preference really

mine are fed in the RUBs that they live in, by hand for most of them with a bit of teasing once they have hold of them. The fussy eaters get the food dropped in and then left to it.
Kitty still gets Deli cupped... Monster I feed in his viv... sometimes when I first open his viv up he gets 'eager' but once he realizes that teh Ape smell doesn't include mouse smell he settles down..

I feed mine out of the viv. I feed Titan in a small RUB and I used to feed Apollo in a RUB until he outgrew it. Now I just feed him on a chair. He never goes anywhere and is such a quick eater that it is down and he is in the viv in no time at all.
Being a first time snake owner I am doing it all by the book... I feed Blossom in a small lockable RUB ( got in Quality Dump oops I mean QD for £2.99) with NO substrate.
Just fed her now and she has progressed to 2 pinkeys... and she has had her first shed last night. So I think every thing is progressing nicely.
Tried her with 2 pinkeys Saturday morning.. only had one as she lost interest in second. Today I rubbed inside of feeding RUB with some hamster bedding before feed, never seen her so active before,,, she was "lovin it" like a kid at a well known burger place.
QUERY: Is it OK to feed just after shed or should I be waiting a day or two?
If the snake will take food just after the shed then there is no harm to offer it. It really depends on the snake. Some snakes won't eat immediately after a shed, some couldn't care less. Apollo will ALWAYS eat, haha, even when blue.
Agree with Sleeper. I bought a snap an lock lunch box from ASDA and drilled some airholes in it. Feed mine in that. Granted now she is a year older shes getting a bit big for it, but its worked a dream so far.
Feed all of mine in the viv simply because it is easier. I don't use a loose substrate though as I would just worry about it being ingested and causing a problem no matter how small that chance is.
