I've had my snow for about 2 months now. I got her at a pet store. I liked that she was out cruising the viv in the store and not hiding. She's super sweet. She never uses her hides and most of the time I see her cruising her viv. Anytime I walk in the room she's out. I'm beginning to think she never sleeps lol. She eats well, temps are 88-72. She has had one shed and looks to possibly going into another now. But her activity level doesn't change much with a shed only for a couple days after she feeds. Is this normal? Should I be worried? My other two corns are never out cruising, they are always hiding. All three are hatchings...maybe 3 months old. I'm not complaining. I love seeing her out but is it healthy/normal?

Lol. Yeah mine comes to see whats going on anytime I enter the room. I like it :) as long as she's healthy and happy. I have to completely disassemble the other vivs to find my two other corns lol. Thanks for the reply coxymk2. I won't worry so much and just enjoy being able to see her :)

As coxymk2 says totally normal they all have lots of different personalities my female is out a helluva lot more than my female and they are around the same age, he is constantly totally hidden under his substrate with just his poking out occasionally!

Sounds like it might be a bit too hot for her. Temps should be 30C as a maximum - ideally kept at about 28C. 88F is slightly higher than 31C.

Normal reccommendation would be between 26-30C so that would be 79-86 with the ideal being 82.4.

How do you measure temps? If with a digital thermometer probe on the heat mat that's fine you just need to drop it down slightly, but if you are using a dial thermometer somewhere in the tank then the temps will actually be significantly higher, and dangerously high for the snake.

Of course she may just be a friendly, adventurous snake...

Thanks for all the replies. Smart bunny...(I dont know how to do the quote thing) I have a dial thermometer that reads heat and humidity but I also check the heat with an infrared digital thermometer. I only use the dial to check humidity. I am going to lower the temp a bit and see if it changes anything. Hopefully she's just active. Thanks for the suggestion :)
