Just got Orion out and he seems to have what looks like a chip of aspen stuck in his vent... i felt it as he slithered over me.. anyone got any ideas is it safe to maybe use some tweezers and try and pull it out? Im not entirely sure how long its been like that as he has been hiding constantly for about a week and i thought he was going into blue as he usually does about a week after Star sheds but no signs that he has gone blue and obviously haven't found a shed...Quite worried any advice gratefully received..

I think a visit to the vet ASAP is needed. Don't try removing it yourself.

When was the last feed and poop?

That was what i was thinking but i've just done some frantic searching on the web and alot of people have said to remove it and move him onto kitchen roll to keep a close eye.. so pulled now...

He was fed Friday and im just about to see if he has pooped as yesterday to today is his usual timing of 3-4 days after a feed

Maybe a warm bath would help dislodge it?

The problem with a warm bath is that it could make the aspen swell. It would certainly be best to take the snake to the vet.

Right so spoke to a couple of reptile vets earlier and the resounding opinion was to put him in a shallow bath then very gently try and remove the aspen if there is a lot of resistance then best to take him in to the vets, so with the help of my OH i very nervously have done as told and the aspen slid straight out and Orion was such a good boy! So relieved that its out but guna worry about him now for a couple of days, there was no liguid with the vet said there could be which i think is a good sign but left him on kitchen roll so i can keep a very close eye on him! my poor man!

Thank you for all your suggestions!
