So I got some bad pictures of the eggs being candled last night(well, early this morning) and was wondering opinions? The eggs themselves still look good but I can only see very thin veins or even only one or two in some of the eggs... Here's three pictures. Best I could do with my camera.
Yes they are candled with a blue LED light lol. I lost my white LED torch unfortunately. |

| Thanks, day 47 and some of them are denting but not due to de-hydration as the humidity is at 94%. Any ideas? We have had some hot weather lately and although I've been putting a white top over the one end of the incubator to keep it shaded and have had two fans in my room and my window wide open, the temp has risen quite a bit. They were incubating at 28c, they are now up to 30c+ despite my efforts... |

| they could be denting due to the hatchlings absorbing the yolk. 47 days is early but the higher temp will make them hatch quicker. 30c+ is a bit high which can lead to kinking, but they have been incubated at a good temp for most of their incubation so should be fine. |

That's what I was wondering... I checked today and three of them are denting. The rest are still quite plump but yesterday only one was denting and today three are denting... I have one that seems to have developed a sort of "tiger stripes" thing on the egg shell... |

Oooh, the blue LED makes them look kinda creepy haha. They look alright as far as I can see. It sounds a little warm really but there's not a whole lot you can do about it in this weather. In the wild they would have to cope with much more fluctuating temperatures anyway  |

I know, I'm just worried it will cause problems with them. I'm trying all I can to try and keep them cooler and at a stable temp of 28c but the sun is directly on my bedroom from when it rises up until about 1/2pm so it literally overheats the whole room. The adults have been cuddling ice boxes! Literally. I put some ice cubes in their water bowls and in some plastic bug boxes and they are cuddling the ice boxes to keep cool... |

| I mist my eggs every other day, I know they say not to get the eggs wet but they dry off very quickly and when I candle them the eggs have good looking veins and I can see dark shadows at the bottom (assuming the yolk and/or snake). I too am having trouble keeping the temps low and the humidity high, hence the misting. |

The humidity is fine, perfect constant 94% but the temp fluctuates way too much with the recent hot weather  |

I know Scary. Well I raised the humidity just up to 96% in case it was the humidity affecting the eggs and their temp is back to 28c today but they are still dented in.... One looks really dented but not the same sort of dented as the little egg I lost due to humidity issues.
A daylight picture. The one with the red dot I'm 100% sure is dead as it's the one that split a few weeks a go and although last night it still had very small and thin veins, this is what it looks like today and the big hanging out has dried up and gone furry... The ones with the green dots are the ones that are denting. The worst is the top one as you can see but the others are starting now. The one at the bottom of the picture has a dent across the middle of the egg and the other is starting to dent at one end. Oh and this picture shows the "zebra striping" that a few have.

| They look really different to mine, I guess partly because mine are on a different medium (sphagnum) and partly because they do look different from snake to snake. |

| Thye look a lot different to mine. Apart from a few colour spots, mine are pretty much the same as when they went in, they just seem a bit bigger. I have mine on vermiculite and nestled in sphagnum moss on top of that. |

Hahaha, I've just set up 14. The tubs I ordered were a bit smaller than expected, but considering how small the eggs are, I think they'll be okay for now.
I like the water dishes, are they milk bottle tops? I was scratchng my head for a while wondering what to use, ended up with tea light candle cases XD |

These are quite big for newly hatched corns but I thought "Better prepare in case I have non-feeders that need to stay longer" or such lol. Yeah they are milk bottle caps My mums been collecting them for weeks for me and washing them out for me lol. |

They look great I'm housing mine in cricket tubs to begin with but I've got some larger lock lid tubs in case they stay a while (I designed my hatchling rack for the larger tubs so that they will all fit on).
