Hey guys bit of advise please. Do you bring out you reptilies when they are awake or do you get them when it suits you, as my new corn is only little and i dont want him getting stressed and thinking every time he pops his head out he gets bought out.
I get mine out whenever I want to hold them. Sometimes when I want to hold them coincides with them wanting to come out, particularly Andromeda and Apollo who would be out all the time if they could. Although when they are young, I won't let myself keep them out for long. Short sessions quite regularly (every day apart from 2 days after feeding to allow to them to digest) seems to be quite good to calm them down and get them used to handling initially.
Once they're calm, I let them tell me when they've had enough. Most of my snakes would be happy to be out all day unless they are getting ready to shed Good luck with your little one
Arguably I spend more time with Monster as he is almost always hanging out somewhere in the open and in most cases he'll actually come right out by himself when I pop the top of his tank.
I usually have to dig Kitty out.. but some times I'll catch him cruising and pull him out.
I always wave and say hello to make sure they know I'm coming so nobody is surprised or startled... IMO it's the polite thing to do.
