Hi. Sorry if you get this all the time. I had read your feeding guide in the sticky section. But a little confused.
Basically I got my snake in February a hatchling. He's now around 2ft long and weighs 55g. I give him 2 fuzzies and feel he's ready to move to the next size but the local pet shop say there next size is regular fuzzies an there about 7cm wide? Which by looking at there small fuzzies seems a big difference!!
So I don't know whether to keep on with the 2 small fuzzies or just try 1 regular and see how he goes?!

Thanks for any opinions

Usually hoppers is the next size up from fuzzies (by me it is anyway) but I can't see the difference from feeding him 'regular fuzzies' if he's already taking 2 fuzzies without any problems, sorry if it doesn't make much sence :p

That is why I weigh what I feed... the 'sizes' are just too unpredictable.

Weigh 2x fuzzies and try and source a single hopper (small) that weighs about the same or look for heavier fuzzies so the pair is more robust.

Thanks for the info. Where I get mine from they come in single grey bags labeled so you can't see what size they are, you just get how many you ask for. I just noticed the other day even tho the packets say "frozen mouse fluff" one liked more like a pinkie compared to the second one!

Do you get them from p@h perhaps? I found that their sizes are very variable, there's a huge difference between a small fluff (3g) and a large fluff (7g!) and they both come within the same 'size'. Is it possible to request larger fluffs? The last one looks a good size for your snake.

Yeah I get them from there as its closest to me.
I asked the other day about the next time to which I was told is a regular fluff and its 7-8cm wide which they said was a big difference to the fluff he's on now. I want to put him on the next size just unsure

7-8cm wide? that's a very wide mouse! do they mean 7-8cm long, the ideal width of the prey should be almost 1 1/2 times the thickest part of the snakes body, when the snake no longer has a visible bump after eating it's time to move up. I don't go off the prey length at all.

Thanks for the advice I looked online and it lists pinkie, fuzzie, small mouse, medium mouse etc. I think he needs a medium
Mouse. He has two of the small mouse and there's barely a lump and he's active again after a day if that!
Think il go to another pet shop and see what they have

I go to pets at home as it is convienitent and I don't use very many mice, making postal orders unecanomical. Rosie is just over a year and 137g, she is eating the smalls from there fine. However, they have varied hugely in size. The first batch were 16-17g and the current batch were 11-14g. She seems happy enough though. I suspect it will be another month before I consider putting her up a size.

Well I weighed the frozen mouse and they weigh 4g each. And he has 2 of these. So I think once he's eaten what's left I will move him up to the next size
