Hi Guys,

SO i got goldie out for a feed tonight (just now). he/she had what could only be explained as a thickness to the tail 3-4 inches above the tip, which ive seen on other snakes.

Anyway, I held goldie as usual, who roamed around fine, then when i touched that bulge she excreted some very strong musk on me. Ive never had this before in the 3 months ive had her. Is it normal?

Have seen stuff on google about it but wanted clarification, seems happy and is feeding now. Just odd and startled me.

T

This is the "bump" ive seen it a few times, i must have just knocked it this time while she slithered. Is happily eating tho i cant get rid of the smell. Will i be ok putting her back in with 13 with this smell on her? (theyve always lived together)

well there was no brown matter, but my god the smell!

I think my snakes are trying to prove they are "special" tonight. No sooner had this happened but 13 my other snake missed his mouse and got a mouth full of the towel he was been fed on, then tried to drag that away with him before realizing his error and is now pretending he didnt do it -.-

Derpy snakes tonight :/

Going by the pics I'd say she was needing to poo Tony and maybe, because she's 'in need' she was sensitive when you touched it and that caused her to musk. I must admit that it's something I've never experienced with mine, yet .

Has she pooed recently?

To answer the question Kellog asked, I just cleaned them out and redecorated the viv, Seems Goldie still has a rather large bulge, Though she did feed again the night i posted this on a large mouse. 13 is bulge free but goldie still looks like she has a large poop to pass (probably on the new decor i just added!) :|

The bulge now actually looks twice the size it did on the pics posted above :|

Nevermind! The ink had no sooner dried on my above post when Goldie did two things I haven't seen her do before!

1)She drank from her water.
2)She did two almighty poops as i watched her!

Happy Tony!

So glad it's all sorted itself out . It's amazing how long they can hold on, Asher has gone a month without doing anything before. It's not surprising she musked you when you touched her 'bulge', I bet she was feeling a bit bloated and sensitive . Now all she must be feeling very relieved, in more ways than one !
