Need ur help guys/gals.
Stanlee has got a sticker on himself from the artificial plant in his viv. Only noticed it when about to feed him, so don't want to disturb him just yet. Can I just peel it off him or would that hurt him?
Sorry to those who have read this on IV site but I'm not sure which one is more popular! Any advice welcome and thanks in advance

How badly is it stuck, and where? You have to be very, very careful not to take his skin off as well. Best if someone else holds him, then you can use a cotton bud soaked in olive oil to try and soak it off, if it's stuck down hard. If it's stuck very lightly, just gently take it off. If your snake is a hatchling, they have such a delicate skin, it'd be easy to do lots of damage. Do you have a good breeder/ good pet shop near you that could help? Or you could post a photo later, it might give us a better idea...

If you've only just fed him, you might have to leave him to digest, it will be quite stressful for the little chap, and he could regurgitate, if you tried too early. Good luck with it.

Would also agree trying to soak it to make it come off more easily. It's all too easy to rip their skin off, even with a silly sticker...

hi Razee and Isoldael. rang the reptile shop where I got him from. they advised a luke warm bath first to help....did this and managed to get the paper bit off.still a little sticky but will bath him again tomorrow. Razee I only noticed it when lifting him out to feed so didn't want to poke at him then and waited until 24 hrs had passed until I put him in the bath. he loved the water and hasn't fallen out with me yet lol it could only have came off the artificial plant so I^ll know to look out for them in future :)thanks for ur advise ladies :)

I'm glad you managed to get part of it off Bertie. Hopefully another lukewarm bath will help get rid of the rest of the sticky.

One point, I notice you say that you waited until 24hrs after he'd fed before bathing him. Normally we'd advise that you wait 48hrs after a feed before handling, giving them time to digest fully.

Please let us know how you get on.

Glad it's off, he will probably go blue soon, and that should resolve everything nicely :-)
