Yup, Dizzy just pooed all over me. and because that obviously wasnt enough, decided to pee on me to lovely. Im also a little worried about her shedding, this is her first shed with me. Her eyes were blue and cloudy on Monday and she also eat 2 pinkies on that day. Its now friday and she still hasnt shed? I just got her out (hence the poop!) and gave her a little bath and she has has a mossy hide thing in her cage but i dont think she's even noticed. Ive read on all the other posts that they normally shed 2 - 3 days after the eyes go blue? will she be shedding soon, is this a normal amount of time for her or is there anything else i need to do do help her? Thanks. |

within a week is normal so don't worry yet. corns are usually perfectly fine shedding all by themselves with no intervention so are best off just left to get on with it
oh and handling isn't generally advised whilst shedding, particularly when their eyes are blue as their vision is impaired so they can be nervous or unpredictable. |

okay so she shed last night...the only problem is all i can find is the middle bit of her shed. I can't find the head and i def think the tail is still on her. I can't tell if it's still on her head or not...but i cant see anything on her eyes. they look normal. a little bit left on the tail has come off while ive been handling her but i cant seem to get the rest off =( help! Ive tried a bath and putting her in a moss thing but theyve not worked. should i get her to the vets? |

it's not a vet job just yet aimz how long did you bath her for? 10 minutes is usually enough to soften the skin enough for it to come off easily. either let her run through your hands while she's having a swim or let her rummage through a towel when you get her out. obviously it's easier if you have the whole shed skin so you can check the tail tip and head have come off properly but if you haven't found all the bits check her over. Queenie shed yesterday, it was almost a whole shed, i knew the tail tip was still on him as it was missing from the shed, but i still haven't found his 'head shed'. when i got him out he's definitely shed from his head so i'm not worried |

haha sorry, she's my first snake and i panic alot :P Thank you for the help, I tried her in a bath and nothing happened, so i put her into a tub with some damp kitchen paper for half an hour or so and like you said let her run through the towel and all the tail came off :):) Yeah, I still can't find the head bit, but from what i can see on her, her head looks shiny and smooth so i'm guessing and hoping it's come off! This was the only pic i managed to get of her seeing as i have the worst camera ever and a snakey that wont stay still!
By the way, Queenie is an awesome name haha! |
