Hiya. Im still waiting to get my Corn. Im now getting it after my holiday so im with it to make sure he/she is ok. But im going to start getting all the equipment i need over the next month. I was wondering if you guys could help me make a list of all the things i am going to need. As there seems to be more things than i thought.
Thanks.

Sensible idea, making a list.
The only thing that wasn't said was decorations. Plastic plants and the like, but they're optional as opposed to compulsery. Just keep a few loo roll tubes, clean out a flower pot and stuff like that. |

Thanks Matty18714 & Kehhlyr. I will be getting a young corn so will be getting a faun to keep it in. So when it comes to the heat mat do i still get one that covers a 1/3 of the floor. And does the heat mat go in the faun or out????

Yup, keep the heat mat under a 3rd of the faun. With a faun, i'd recommend out of the faun myself because then you can actually get a larger heat mat that'll do in a year or 2 when viv upgrade comes around as well. Also less chance of escape with 1 less cable going into the faun. |

It should be fine in a fuan for a year or so if its a hatchling. |

You'll have to find a rep vet. May be worth asking your local vets if they know one, if not ask your closest RSPCA. |

most vets will have a sepcialist repltilian vet, but you'll have to ring up and ask, as most normal vets know nothing about snakies

not true!! your local small animal practice should be able to give you details of an exotic/reptile vet in your area, but it's likely you'll have to travel further away to see them.

which is why they're quite happy to pass the buck to an exotic vet even an exotic vet might not have a huge amount of snake experience, they might have specialised in lizards or tortoises for example, so personal recommendations are always good |
