Yeah but all snakes are the same-ish in captivity, probably around 25 years but pythons of some species can live for 40????

Nice looking snakey! go for it

If you like him, get him. Dont let the age put you off, he has time in him yet.

just make sure the hot water bottle is warm NOT hot

age shouldn't really be an issue, you could have another 13 years with him! my oldest corn is 16 this year.

they should all be fine as far as housing is concerned, however my corns did seem a little unsettled when i had the jap rat snake living in the same room as them. BUT the JRS was a complete psycho and gave off bad vibes!
currently i have a royal and a Dumerils boa living next to each other and above 2 corns, and another Dum living above 3 corns in my stack, with no problems what-so-ever.

My corns are in the top 2 levels of a triple stack with the boas at the bottom, doesn't seam to bother them at all.

I picked up my king snake a little while back from Wolfspirit, and she was about 1 1/2 to 2 hours drive away from me.
I just had Trio inside a pillow case, inside a rub, on the passenger footwell.
That way, you can always direct the blowers down to the feet as well, to add a bit of warmth if needed.
He's 14 years old, and a lovely snake as well. Distance shouldn't be to much of a problem.
I was gonna bring a mat and stat with me for the drive, but the car I ended up using didn't have a cigarette socket to plug them into.

Milks snakes are part of the king snake family Dondon, very confusing i know and it can be really hard to tell the differance between some of them. Yours looks like a Ruthven's Kingsnake to me, but Pueblan Milksnake and Sinaloan Milk Snake look really simalar and I'm no expert. Your best bet may be to Google for some images.

Thankyou Tizzy, didnt realise they were part of the same family, although it did cross my mind because they are very much alike. i have been trawling the net for pics of nelsons, Pueblan and other milk snakes to compare with Ruthven's Kingsnake and they all look so alike, one minute i think hes a Ruthven's Kingsnake, the next i change my mind because of a different pic, then change it back again hehe. He is a lovley snake and what ever he is im really glad i got him

Most important thing is that your happy with him, the care is pretty much the same for kings and milks so it's not the be all and end all if you don't sus it out.

good tounge flick.

From my VAGUE memory, I beleive that to be a common milk. not sure the name. From kings reputation suprised he let you hold him in shed.

Whether your'e up for a grilling, lol, try the dark side..
Or for a friendlier, lovlier approach tks

Quality, whatever he is!!
