Hi
This week I am going to double feed Tiko, he does constrict so do I let him constrict one, start eating it then pop the other one close by or to constrict both, one after another??

The reason I am double feeding is his "small" mouse last week seemed a bit big so I am giving him 2 smaller "small" mice!
Thanks

I double feed Ripley two large fuzzies, and, though he doesn't constrict and only occasionally strikes, I let him fully eat one and get it to around his stomach area (it will slow and eventually stop around this area) and then I offer him the second. With the second, you may find that the snake will act more aggressively and take it a LOT faster, so do keep an eye on them when doing this. Ripley will take about 5 mins on his first fuzzie, and then only around 2 for the second! He's a fast eater though, always has been.

Good luck with the double feed ^^

When I've double fed my snake usually constricts the first and then just gently takes the second from me.

How did Tiko's double feed go Lucy?

I do the same as the others have suggested when I feed Silvesta, waiting until the 'bump' of his 1st mouse is about half way down before offering him the 2nd.

I totally understand the stressed and worried bit ....but hope you managed to get some pics this time.

xxx

hey i do exactly the same with zues he on 2 fuzzies has one takes it with aggression and takes about 5 mins then i offer the second n he takes it with slightly less aggression and it down within 2 mins!! and BAZ5453 i found the best way is to offer it if he full he will just ignore it! but yeah double feed pinkies for month or two before fuzzies!

Maisimadu, My youngsters are 14 weeks old one has a fuzzy every week and the other has 2 pinkies every week and will be moving to fuzzies in a couple of weeks. So yes I would double up on the pinkies then move to 1 fuzzy after 4-6 feeds of doubling up pinkies. I imagine that is very little bulge if any after eating 1 pinkly. Remeber a snake can eat something 1 1/2 times the fattest part of the body. Hope this helps.

Don't worry, all snakes vary in size. I'm going to try Falcor on a double feed for the first time on Saturday and he's 4 months. How long does it take your snake to eat his pinkie?

A good idea is to weigh them then you can see if they are gaining weight. I put their feeding box on some scales, tare it and then put snakey in. Its put my mind at rest as when I first got Loki I was worried whether he was putting on weight or not.

by the way, is it normal that my corn "bites" the pinkie and then reaches as high as she can in the air and then swallows it in the air?

I just bought a digital kitchen scale from Asda. Doesn't have to be owt fancy.
He may be ready, maybe leave it a couple of weeks and see how noticeable the bump is then. How often do you feed him?

Who/What is Asda? He? Ready for? Leave what? As often as she eats, about 5-7 days. She doesn't lift her up, she lifts half her body up...
