Just wondered if I was committing dreadful sins by being a liitle creative in the den/ hide area .

Basically we were doing a bit of early Spring cleaning and came across a few miniature vases , as I hate chucking anything out I put one in one of the hatchling vivs , alongside a normal hide and a half coconut , so that's three in all !

Lo and behold the hatchling spends about 70% of it's time in the vase . Not sure if it's the temp or general texture or shape or whatever ???

I've done the same in all my vivs now , they all have at least two normal hides and a little vase or something .

Anyone else getting a little creative. ???

My largest one loves his converted jewellery box with the lid jammed open , I checked for sharp edges , of course . He seems to love his red material lined box !,

I have a normal hide in the warm end and at the cool end and put my little creation at the mid point of each viv.

My hatchies have the lid of an egg carton cut in half. They curl round the nobbly bit inside. My adults have a garden seed tray cut in half with edges smoothed off. They prefer these to the standard reptile hides that they also have.

Dawwww might have to steal a vase.

I have a lot of stuff, some are some hides for the babies and others are like exercise kinda things. I've had loo roll cut in half, coconuts I've sanded in places after stuffing my face with all of it's goodness. Half of a clay pipe is also in a viv. I have a few boxes for if needed such as chocolate boxes, some boxes I've cut little mousey doors out of like shoes and wine boxes, tampon box and there's a foundation one for the babies. Also some chocolate mousse cases.

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3

Izzy won't use any of the hides, she just curls up under her plants instead. That's the last time I buy proper hides for reptiles! It's like when you buy a child a present and its more interested in the wrapping paper!

I've got a half-log in the warm end, which Egon spends most of his time hiding in, a half coconut in the cool end, which he occasionally uses, but rarely, and a plant in the back which he used to like climbing and hiding in. Now he just loves the log so much, you never see him!

I saw someone had a tiny wheeley bin hide, I wanted one of those, haha!
