Again, sorry for the new topics all the time.
Right, I've had Egon for about 2 weeks now, and for the most part, things seem fine. 
My only concern is that he seems a little... lumpy, in the middle.
I feed him one small mouse every sunday. Now, the guy at the shop had no clue what he was talking about, apparently he didn't even like snakes. I felt I knew more than he did, and Egon is my first snakey!  So I was wondering if maybe the mice are too big? I don't know what the definitions are for the mice, but the ones I give him aren't pinkies, I don't think. They have a little fur, but are very small. I normally let them defrost above a heater in my room for a few hours, and give them to him when they are warm. No problems feeding, he gobbles them right up.
Is it normal for him to still have a mousey sized lump in him, this long after feeding? It's smaller than after he's first eaten, and he has pooped since his last feed, so any ideas why he is still a little thick around the middle?
The temperature in the warm end, where he spends most of his time, is about 28-29 degrees, all the time.
It's probably nothing, and I think he may be due to shed, if that has anything to do with it, but any thoughts would be appreciated! Cheers!

Where abouts 'in the middle' are these lumps?
Is there only 1 or 2? or several??
Is he seemingly hiding about or wandering more and looking for more hidey holes at all?? |

pinkies : half the size of your pointing finger and very pink
fuzies: white fure , defined fetures and about the size of your thumb
Mouse: white thich fur, size of middle finger, defined features, fully grown
Which one of these do you think you are feeding your snake?
How big is s/he?
is it a small or big lump?
does the lump go away after a day or so? |

It must be fuzzies that he's eating, by the sounds of things.
It's not a huge lump. It's just the normal lump that they get after eating, it just seems to take him a long time to digest it, which is what makes me think that maybe a fuzzy is too big for him. It's gone away now, but then that's nearly a week since he's fed. I thought it was only supposed to take 2-3 days for them to digest their food?
He's also definitely shedding at the moment, if that has anything to do with it.
Egon himself is very small, he's a little hatchling, no idea on age, though, as I said, the bloke in the shop had no idea about anything. 
I'm heading up there today, and hopefully the actual owner of the shop will be there, and he should know what he's on about.

| You should be feeding a mouse 1.5 times the thickness of the thickest part of your snake's body maximum. If the size is right it should only take 2-3 days for the lump to completely disappear, it might be worth checking out your temperatures to ensure your snake is getting enough heat to sucessfully digest, I aim for 28 degrees centigrade in the hot end. Its also best to not handle the snake if there is still a food lump. |

Nope, I got given 2 fuzzies when I got him. I went to the place where I got him, and the owner recommended I use pinkies instead, so I got several of them.
Temperature is normally between 26-29 degrees, so I don't think that's the issue, think it was literally just the size. |
