My hatchies are going from their fauns to vivs, but if they show signs of stress, they will be going back to their fauns, which will then be placed it the vivs until they get a feel of things.

Doesn't mean I can't voice it though.

I had do exactly this with Keith. Although he continued to eat he was always hiding. Moved him back to his faunarium for a few weeks inside the larger viv then let him move in properly again and he was alot more active the second time.

Ok,I don't have an adult in here. This is one of my corns RUBs. She's 18 months old,the RUB is 21l and she'll soon be going into a larger RUB. I've branches, plants and everything in there that I'd have if she was in a viv although to be honest she never climbs so its not needed lol.

Blimey looks like i have been missing out, there really isnt any difference between the two and a captive bred snake knows know different and if anything that faun looks tidly infact one of the smallest on this sight and you may prefer vivs and other people may prefer rubs but at then end of the day its down to floor space and what there is in it.Which in the viv pictured if anything there is less floor space than the rubs pictured its up to the owner and everyone wants the best for there own animals which is what they sre doing, dont judge if you dont want to be judged yourself the topic as mentioned is about peoples rubs and for them to share that not mouth it off.

just 2 add he sheds normally feeds well and seems in good general health the only difference i can see between vivs and rubs
is that a viv is more visually pleasing :)

Really glad you said about the faun looking tidly, surprised no one else has mentioned it. There was a cold hide a warm hide and a bowl of water in the faun so all the snake needed supposedly. The dimensions of the faun and the size of the snake is actually the same as it would be if a 5ft corn was kept in a 33/50/64 ltr RUB. Frank looked really cramped in the photo did he not? Just like an adult would be.

Floor space in the viv pictured is exactly the same as a 64 ltr RUB. You can make RUBS look really spacious when taking pics from above and using small plants and hides in them and small snakes. Can be very deceiving all round.

I'll have to get some pictures up of mine, 3 are kept in rubs/tubs and one is in a faun soon to move to a rub. I used branded rubs for a while, but The Range have a good selection of larger tubs at good prices, just need to get busy with the soldering iron, some zip ties and cable tidies and they work well!

Spreebok, a hand drill with an 1/8" drill bit does a better job than a soldering iron. You can see the job I did in the picture I posted on page 1 of this topic.

Use masking tape wrapped around the tub and mark out the spacing with a ruler and felt tip, drill and strip off the masking tape. Use a scraper to clear any scraggy bits on the inside.

You get a cleaner job using a hand drill. With a soldering iron you can leave hard and sharp spikes of melted plastic which could possibly scratch and injure your snake. Melted blobs are also harder to remove.

Not at all really as most people use bigger fauns as a hatchling and i just measured my 50 litre rub which im not useing yet and thats 18 inch wide allso but 28 inch long by the time it has substrate in it the measurements will infact be longer as all sides are tilted as such i reckon that will be fine for a while but we shall c how it goes.

I poke the holes from the inside out, so the only one getting poked it me :D I was worried about it, especially with my little butter, so I made sure there is nothing there. And yeah, they don't look at nice, but the buggers trash the things as it is, and they get moved uo over time :)

Certainly an option not that I think the snake would stretch out and rest between the two tubs through a tube just quickly move from one to the other. Most people would not consider this because of the amount of space it would take up the same as a 4 1/2ft long viv. Put some pics up if you use this type of set up would be interesting to see.
