We just got a couple of corn snakes this morning and were intending to leave them be until Tuesday, at which point they will not have eaten for a week.
However we noticed some kind of creepy crawly inside the viv and decided that we should get that out. We had to move the snakes out temporarily to search and believe that whatever is was is now being baked in the oven.
This ordeal seems to have left the snakes terrified of us, when I walked towards the viv a moment ago one of them launched itself quickly at the glass as if to strike.
Is there anything I can do to let them know that we are not a threat, or are they best just left alone until feeding time on Tuesday?
I would just leave them alone to settle for a week. It will not bother them missing the feed on tuesday, just go in to change water and spot clean if needed.
Thanks for the reply Donnie. As for them being scared you have just confirmed what I was thinking. They will get used to having us buzzing around the place and should calm down a little I guess.
The bug looked to be some kind of small worm. Possibly a larval woodworm, not too sure. I will call the shop we got them from in the morning about it.
