Hey all ive always been an Aracnophobe however ive been saying forever that ive been inspired by my snake phobic friends whove overcome their phobias here with my lot to the point where i felt i really ought to "Man up" and face my own fear of spiders lol but up till now ive always found one reason or another to not do it but today my friend invited me over to check out his new reptile room twas ace i had cuddles with cresties an ATB a baby bosc aaaaand "Fanny" my friends Chile rose omg i was terrified!!! but sooo glad i did it im actually kinda smitten now haha

well done you should be very proud of yourself, I was the same with snakes but had to overcome my fear as I rescued two as a favor, just wish I'd done it years ago.

I can look at photos of spiders and can get close(ish) to their terrariums in reptile places but I'm not sure I could actually hold one.

Ive always liked how some Taruntulas look but they do seriously freak me out lol my friends got a big collection of various types and size including some giant goliath bird eaters geez i can see how they got their names!!! i was rooted to the spot in sheer terror,
My friend had to remind me to breath a few times haha im gonna do a bit of research and maybe get myself a beginner t at some point lol well first thing tomorrow suppose i better arrange a parachute jump so i can overcome my fear of heights (like hell i will!!)

Has horrid memorys of crickets from waaay back when my old housemate used to have green anoles the crickets would escape get under my bed at night and id hear the bloody things chirping lol

I get silent brown crickets and so far none have escaped. I use a 'clippy' box and put it inside a bigger tub when plootering about with them.

Alas, I'm not as far as you yet, though I managed to briefly touch a shed tarantula skin.

well done, its quite the sureal experiance isn't it. I'm scared of spiders but held the one at work, i can now sort the ones at work and remove shed skins but if i see a house spider or the T's move too fast i cack myself!!
