 how can i lower my cold temperature?

i was wondering if anybody could help me i recently put i thermometer on the cold side of my faurarium and its reading too high does anybody know how i could top the temp?

What is it reading? Firstly what is your set up like?

1.0 western hognose (hero)
1.0 phantom reverse pin dal brindle crested gecko (goyle)
0.2 red dal red harly (sprite) 99% full pin Harley crested gecko (TuLong)
0.0.3 miomantis paykullii
0.0.3 Bombina orientalis (oriental fire bellied toad)
0.3 fancy mice (snap, crackle and pop)
1.0 yorkshire terrier (jasper)
2.1 cats (echo, shadow and pokey)

Is it a dial? they are known to be quite innacurate

no it a digi one, my set up is two hide (one either side) aspen bedding to warm bowls few trees and vines prttey basic atm till ive put together the new one. my hot side is reading 28.6 and my cold is reading 23.8 which in the care sheet its says to have it at 21

How big is your enclosure and how are you heating it?

23 isn't so bad... during the warmest months here I was putting 2x 1L soda bottles full of water into the freezer then placing them on top of my tank at the 'cold end'.

its a lot of schlepping but it did the job...

my enclosure is only 1.5ft x 1ft as they as only babies so not the biggest and by heat mat on a therometer if that what it is lol. thanks will try that thank you

And you using a stat and measuring the hot end in contact with the mat next to the stat probe? Xxx

How much floor space does your mat use and how hot is your room it is kept in? I don't measure my cool end temps of my corns so I wouldn't know if mine was at 23 or 18 or something else, you are getting a 5 deg variation and I would have thought that would have been ok but if you can adjust things to get a bigger difference then that can only be a good thing
