Anouk has refused her last 2 scheduled feeds. We have tried feeding her 3 times in the past 26 days, with no success. She is fed every 10 days. Taken her last fed on 26th August.

She is 19 months old, 4ft long and 565grams, she is a healthy bread shape and very strong when she coils around you during handling.

Viv temps are stable, she is passing faeces no problem, drinking her water, and her last shed was complete.

She seems content and happy to be handled and enjoys exploring her viv.

She is looking a little darker in colour, we think she is due a shed, however in the past she has always eaten even in blue.

We have down graded her prey sizes to a large mouse rather than a jumbo, buying from a different seller (dark mice instead of her usual white as this was what they had available), we have brained the prey but still have no luck of a successful feed.

She feeds in a separate rub, will happily sniff at the prey but just moves away, if you bring it close to her nose she backs off.

Any advise please?!

Strangely enough, I have heard of some corns refusing dark mice if they normally eat white on several occasions. It might just be that she isn't impressed with the dark mice.

The last prey offerings where white mice and the one we tried with her recently was a dark mouse. so we are still at loss! Lol
Yes another snake owner said that her snake wouldnt eat a dark mouse, so i have heard of this :-)

Ah right, sorry, I misunderstood you. If she's otherwise healthy then personally I wouldn't worry too much yet, it shouldn't do much harm to a snake of her size to miss a few meals as they can go months without eating, just keep an eye on her weight. If she's losing more than a couple of grams then I would suggest a vet visit to check her out.

lol it's funny how different snakes can be. My boy's always happily taken his exactly room-temperature mice that have been left out to thaw all day with no problem. Still definitely something to try though :)

'Lovecraft' - CB12 male amel

'Sarnath' - CB13 male KSB (anery, het. albino)

it could be the temperature of the prey - ill try heating it up warmer for her and put her in the feeding box and covering it!

Many thanks
