Hi,
I have 3 corn snakes, all of which have just shed for the first time since I got them. With the first 2 I noticed their shed skin was just white/clear pretty much in the way my bearded dragons is when they shed. Though with my 3rd snake her shed was a bit different. Her skin shed has these dark patches on it almost as if some of the colour in her skin has come off with the old skin.
I was just wondering is this normal? It's the first time I've seen it happen and being quite new to snakes it obviously throws up slight concern. I also noticed that with the 3rd snake, the skin broke into 2 pieces which did not happen with the others. Do you think she has had some kind of difficulty with her shed?
2 of the snakes live together (they are both female) and therefore live in the same conditions although the other snake it lives with didn't have these issues with her shed. |

Dark patches on the shed is normal, it's common to see the outlines of their pattern on the shed. Amels, snows and combinations with the amelanistic genes have the white/clearer sheds 
Breaking into two isn't a worry, it probably got caught on something. As long as both eye caps and the tail tip have come off then it sounds good |

| My Anery has very clear patterning of the shed skin. Dark pigments show up on shed skin. Lighter colours are there too, just very very feint. |
