Dont worry, after Gmac told me about some snakes getting caught in the holes on the coconut hides not only did I replace the coconut for a hole-less one but I got the next size of skull up as well for when she grows out of this one. I was thinking of blocking the smaller holes on them so she can only go through the holes she can fit through. Theres quite a large hole on the top/back of the skull as well as the eyes and open underneath.
Its one of her favourites so it would be mean to take it away from her now lol. Will have to see how big she grows before I can tell her if she can have a forever skull lol.
Its a good thing to make people aware of though, you would think that snakes would know what they could fit through- I did until I was informed otherwise.
Im impressed with Sybil though, I was expecting a regurge today (will probably happen tomorrow now I have said this) as she ate on monday and decided to shed that night and with me having to help her and taking pictures today to confirm that there is no retained shed on her head. Mind you the bump of the fuzzy is almost gone in the pictures so she might have a really fast metabolism. |

She's looking great  . Obviously it's hard to tell from pics but it does look as though she's 'clean'.
I'm so glad that you haven't had a regurge. I would suggest that if this happens again, which hopefully it won't, and you find yourself in the same situation that you leave her to digest fully before intervening. A couple of days waiting won't make a major difference, especially if you up the humidity over that time. Just better to be safe than sorry.
It's a very good point about the holes in the skull and I'd advise you to block up any small holes in it. Thanks for pointing out that thread Redware, even if it is on the 'dark side'  . Have saved the link to use as an example.

I did wonder if I should have left her or not but she was acting so different to usual and looked to me like she was really distressed, but that could have just been my inexperience and projecting my concern on her. At the time I just thought that a regurge wouldnt be the end of the world and helping her shed would calm her down so she would be more likely not be stressed.
If it happens again (which I hope it wont) I will leave her for a day to see if she manages it, or I just wont offer food after she clears from being blue until she sheds.
Glad that you think she is looking clean as well, still didnt find big enough pieces of shed to say that it was her head bit so Im guessing that it was all too bitty, small or mixed in the aspen for me to identify.
Once she leaves her skull I will get it out and use salt dough to block the smaller holes, she will just have to miss it until it dries lol. |

Im going to just keep one thread open for pics, instead of opening loads of different ones. Means I also get a sort of time line of her growing up lol.
These are from Monday tea time.
the bump left by the fuzzy looks huge in the picture but when she moved it further down it looked less huge lol. She struck so fast at this one, didnt do her usual slow move up to it and then strike but just struck and made me jump but she done a good constrict and I have some really nice videos of her as well. |

Yeah, its a good one considering I took them all with my iPhone and not the camera.
She coiled like that and then couldnt figure out how to start eating it as she was in her own way, you could see the confusion on her face lol. |

She is putting weight on and getting longer (I cant see it but according to the snake measuring app thing she is!)
When I first brought her home she weighed about 18grams, now she is about 30grams and about 48cms long. If I go by the measuring thing she has grown 5cms in just over 2 weeks!!
Her personality is really coming through now as well, little bugger didnt want to eat in her rub today and kept getting out so I fed her on a towel on the floor in the end and she was as happy as Larry and ate really well. Much better than she had been in the rub. I think she has her mothers red headed stubbornness lol
SBB- its a scary image isnt it!?
I check often that Sybil still fits her one or if I need to put the bigger one in her faun. I dont know if she will still fit in one when she is fully grown but while she is still a worm Im just keeping an eye on it, its her favourite hide as well so I would feel really mean taking it away lol. |

I wasnt sure she was going to be able to manage this one, the last couple of fuzzies I have seem to be quite big compared to the rest but she did, now has a very full belleh!
And the lil b'gar has decided to go into blue on me when I am away for the weekend *rolls eyes*
My neighbour is going to check on her but Im only away for 3 nights so Im hoping she doesnt shed super fast this time but I will put in a moss hide in the morning for her.

Wonderful coil . It is amazing what size prey item they can handle. Try not to worry too much about her being blue while you're away. It's only for a few days and you're doing the right thing putting a moist hide in. We go away on Sunday until Tuesday and I'm hoping Casper sheds before we go. Knowing how they like to frustrate us I doubt he will .
